Marketing Your Product Or Business With Twitter
Over the past several months, the social networking website Twitter has taken pop culture by storm and is now one of the top 15 websites. So, with so many people using Twitter, many entrepreneurs and business owners must be using the site in some way, right?
Well, if you currently have a Twitter account, you may notice that when you tweet about something related to business, marketing, etc, you gain a follower. When you view this person’s page, they’re typically advertising some product and are following a ton of people, but also have a ton of followers. This is either because they’ve spent hours using the ‘Search’ function trying to find people who are interested in a certain niche, or are using a program that automatically follows hundreds of people a day based on specific keywords in their Tweets. So, how can this affect a business or website?
Let’s take the Able Blogger Twitter page. We are currently following around 2,000 people and have 1,620 followers. With these statistics, we generate 30-50 views per day. This may not sound like a whole lot, but for being a relatively new blog, this is a lot better than people may expect. Plus, we aren’t even using a Twitter robot, so these results were earned through hard work.
To those who are wondering, a Twitter program that has a license for one account costs $55, so if you have a solid marketing plan, it will be money well spent. We also recently wrote an article on a new Twitter service, Ad.ly, which allows users to pay a user with a large amount of followers so much to advertise their product in a Tweet, which typically generates around 1,000-5,000 hits, depending on the user.
Many major companies like CNN have already begun using Twitter to reach a larger audience, so what are you waiting for? Get started by registering an account at Twitter and enter a whole new world of online advertising and promotion. Oh, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter!

Hi Amar,
Nice post. Twitter is a very good way of marketing and it can be very helpful resource.
Thanks
@Pradeep I Agree with your points, I have heard that twitter is actually becoming very useful as per SEO is concerned.
@Sahil Yes definitely, twitter can be a golden tool but only if used properly
Cool post Amar!
I personally started using Twitter quite a long time a go, certainly before it came really popular. I found that my traffic actually dropped when it got more popular, probably because there were more links and therefore mine weren’t getting clicked.
That said, I recently started using LabTweets and I must say it’s boosted my Twitter traffic loads!
@simon I think the same thing, when everyone started spamming on twitter.. Users stopped checking out links,, I hope there is less spam on twitter and a better environment
Twitter is no doubt an amazing marketing tool, if it is effectively used it can bring more the 100 or 500 traffic per day. Only a nice promotion strategy should require, one have to use Tweetdeck in place of Twitter to give updates, also Twitter should be connected to other social networking websites like Facebook and Orkut via different applications available.
Twitter is definitely a huge platform for branding or selling products. We mostly use short URls to share link and by doing that actually one can easily share affiliate links to others. This way one can generate huge revenue thru twitter. Quality followers really matters on Twitter or other social network as they spread your link to many of other users. Nice post Amar, landed first time but got lot many info.
@Himanshu I agree, I am getting about 100 visits everyday. I agree a nice promotion strategy is required as well but generally twitter is mostly used for link spamming now and this results in losing the followers. So we should always focus on quality tweeting
@Sanjeev I have done affiliates with bit.ly url’s, you are right it can bring us good revenue through twitter and sanjeev I am glad that you liked the info here, Keep visiting again for more
