What is Google Sitemap? Technically a Google Sitemap is an XML document that contains information about all of the Web pages on your site.
What information does a Google Sitemap hold about my Web pages? In a Google sitemap you can include parameters.
What is Google Sitemap? Technically a Google Sitemap is an XML document that contains information about all of the Web pages on your site.

What information does a Google Sitemap hold about my Web pages? In a Google sitemap you can include parameters. Some examples of these parameters are the URL of your Web page, the date you last updated your Web site , how often the Web page is updated , and also that specific Web pages priority in the site.

What do I do with it? All you need to do is create this file, pass it off to Google, and Google will finish the rest.

What does Google do with it? No one really understands how Google uses this XML file. After you submit the file, Google basically says that it gives no guarantee on traffic/rank increase. However there have been many people who have claimed significant increases in their Google ranking.

How do I produce a Google Sitemap?

Just do these following steps:

The first thing you need to do is create your XML file. Don’t worry though; there are many of utilities that do this for you AND they are for free online. One of the ones I like is at www.sitemapbuilder.net.
The next instruction you need to do is get the XML file you just created submitted to Google. All you have to do is visit www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login and login with your Google account. Once you’ve logged in you can add as many Sitemaps as you like.

The most important thing to do is remember to keep your site map current. Remember that every time you make a modification to your site you will need to repeat this process again.
That’s it. I hope this was an easy walkthrough on how to generate your very own Google sitemap. Hopefully you will be able to increase your ranking on Google with this easy technique.

Remember: Google is introducing their new Mobile Sitemap program. If your site is mobile-friendly then I would also recommend generating sitemaps for that program as well.

Most bloggers desire that various search engines should themselves locate their blogs and also their posts through various keywords but these keywords change from post to post. This is the most common problem with blogs and search engine optimization. Thus, there may be days when a particular keyword would help the search engine locate your blog and post while on another day it may not because the posts on you rblog may or may not contain the keyword on that day. So What is the solution to this problem?

Well I don’t know how with other blogs but with wordpress blogs there is an easy way. Wordpress allows you to have a different home page from the page your posts are on. This means you can have a static front page and still each of your posts will be found on the
search engines!

Now to set this up first you must log on your administration dashboard and create two new pages. Name one of the pages , blog, and the other ,home!. We can change this later but for now they are good defaults. Neither of the pages have to say anything at this point. We are just setting it up so we can edit it later. After you have the blank pages go to your reading settings. You should see two options, front page, and posts page.

Change both settings, the posts page should be set to the page you created called ,blog, the front page should be set to ,home. Save your settings and go view your blog. You should have your blank home page, and then a page called blog containing all your posts!

Now you want to create a home page that explains exactly why you are their and what users can expect to find on your blog. It is very helpful to open your page source and view your keywords so you can use them in your page.

You want to use your keywords as often as you can without appearing them to look like spam. Each time you use your keywords surround them with either [strong] or [b] html tags. You want to use some of your keywords at both the top and the bottom of your page. Using keywords about 3 times each is a good practice.

You also want to make sure your front page has 113 words or more. I will say trust me in the fact that you want at least 113. Also when spreading out your keywords you want a ratio of 1:13. For every thirteen words on your page one should be a keyword. This means your text should have at the very least 9 keywords for 113 word page.

When I say keywords I am not just referring to the words. I am referring to key phrases as well. Anything in your [meta keywords] tags.

Now you also want to make sure of one thing. If you are still logged into your dashboard, go to your appearance editor. Find the file called ,header and open it. You should see a bunch of source code that may or may not make sense to you.

You want to make sure you find your [title] ? [/title] tags and make sure they are placed directly after your [head] tag. This is very important for certain search engines! If they are not you want to move them there!

One last piece of advise I have is when adding links to your front page, if at all possible, add links with keywords as text! This also helps your rankings a lot but is very hard to achieve.

If You have any problems in understanding this post, Go ahead to the contact page and contact me for details

There are many websites that still don’t understand how important it is to get a listing in a web directory, as the majority of them are still lacking the information as to how these web directories can help them build a strong marketing structure.

There are many benefits associated with the submission of your website to web directories. First one being a traffic issue. By submitting to web directories, you are inviting quality web traffic to your site which is by far the most economical way to date.

The major search engines are constantly hunting down new websites using spiders and robots which would dig inside a popular web directory on a daily basis to get new links and update the content for that directory. As you can now appreciate, web directories is a great and affordable way to promote and market your site.

All the popular web directories are well structured in groups and categories depending upon the content or subject. This also helps in optimizing the search process as well.

Getting your website listed in a directory will also improve your link popularity. You can Google the internet to find good relevant articles explaining what backlinks are and how they work. In addition to directory marketing there are other ways to build your sites link popularity like forum posting, blog posting, article submissions, reciprocal link exchanges etc etc…

It is no secret that a online business needs a constant traffic flow of visitors to their site to stay in business. Quite often webmasters are not very clear about the importance of submitting the site to the web directories. Do you know, majority of web directories are indexed, which means that your website link would show up in the searches very shortly after it has been submitted?

A web directory provides referral traffic to your site and many webmasters around the world use these directories to attract traffic to their sites as many directories offer free submission. Many directories also offer paid submissions with a featured link.

A popular seo friendly directory you would not want to miss out on is Dmoz. This directory has a collection of good quality sites. Getting listed in Dmoz can prove to be very difficult but if don’t try you will not get in. And yeah don’t just stop at Dmoz, there are plenty more to look for.

What General Directories Provide Great Value?

I liked the ones I left linked above. There are a few others that are decent as well, but the broader I make the list the more likely I am to eventually promote sites that are doing lots of spammy things, like whoring out their sites to AdSense or sitewide casino links.

I see a couple of the unlinked directories listed above ranking in the SERPs for a broad range of queries, but some of them may not exercise much editorial control, and will eventually lose some of their authority.

For the sake of MSN and Yahoo! I still do submit to a number more directories than just what is listed above. The number depends on the field, but if the business is going to be a web savvy business that can afford to create strong brands and/or useful content then they will also have many links from outside the directory sphere.
